Melissa Turman
State Camps/Events Director
FCA Nebraska
Previously, Melissa worked in the insurance industry for eight years all the while serving in ministry at her local church. Ministry was her passion...she just never imagined she would get to do it vocationally. Melissa had been part of the FCA Huddle at Nebraska Wesleyan where she attended college, and many years later the Lord opened the right doors at the right time to now get to serve on FCA staff.
When asked what she’s most excited about, Melissa says, “This is probably going to be surprising...camps and events 🙂 What I love about camps and events is best summarized in the word connection. I see so many opportunities for connection - connecting students to other students or coaches to other coaches, connecting our staff and volunteers to an area of passion and gifting they have as they serve, and most importantly the opportunity camps and events provide to create a space in which hearts can connect to and be transformed by Jesus.”
She is excited about the platform FCA has to reach so many people all around the world. That it keeps on continuing! We keep hearing stories of lives that are being transformed.
Melissa and her husband, Matt, met through FCA at Wesleyan, got married in 2006, and moved to the Panhandle in 2010. They are blessed to have a home on a little bit of land which they share with our dog, some chickens, and a variety of wildlife that wander through. Matt serves as an elder at their local church, practices law, has a passion for disc golf, and is an avid podcast listener. They share a love of the mountains and hiking and relish when they can slip away for a weekend to Estes Park, Colorado.
