Rodney Droud

North Lincoln Area Representative

Lincoln-Southeast Nebraska

After graduating from Nebraska Wesleyan in 1986, Rodney was hired at Lincoln Public Schools. He taught for seventeen years at Goodrich Middle School, then made the move to Lincoln High as an English and Reading teacher. During most of those 34 years he was an FCA Huddle Coach, as well as the Long and Triple Jump coach at The High (which he is still doing today). When retirement was something Rodney was considering, the opportunity to work for FCA's ministry was something he really wanted to be a part of and, in 2020, he became a part of this great team.

When asked about what he’s passionate about, Rodney said, “What I'd say I'm most passionate about within FCA is the Coaches Time Out. Being involved with this event since its inception, seeing and experiencing what it has done for my marriage and so many others causes me to champion making this a must-be-there weekend for the coaches and their spouses of this state.”

He also stated, “To lead coaches and athletes to Christ is obviously our calling as Believers. So as a coach myself, to watch men and women, as well as the young people they impact, learn and grow in the saving faith through Christ's life, death and resurrection just fires me up! When the "A-ha" moment occurs and that eternal decision is made stirs something within me that is literally indescribable- it is THAT powerful.”

While Auto Racing and Husker sports monopolizes much of his free time, having Joy and Laughter for 40 years with his bride, Lori, and watching their two children's families grow before their very eyes is probably his favorite thing in life!
